Contemporary Encaustic Painting Workshop with Joanna Platt

This is an introduction to some of the processes and procedures of encaustic painting. Students will learn the basic techniques of mixing medium, applying the “paint,” scraping and scratching the surface,  embedding mixed materials and collage elements, and a simple printing technique.  Students are asked to come prepared with an idea, a black and white photo copy (if they wish to try the printing technique), and found objects and collage elements if desired.  All other materials provided.  Limited to 6 students.

This workshop will be held at The Campus @ Hoffman’s Crossing Califon, NJ.  Directions provided. Transportation not provided. Pre-registration is required.
