Justin Remo, exhibiting artist in our 2025 Juried Print Exhibition, is traveling up from Baltimore, MD to lead this workshop!

Woodcut printmaking is the oldest technique there is, dating back to 5th Century China, and still today we find new ways of working with the satisfying medium. Whether you have tried before or never touched a wood carving tool, this course will teach you the basics of carving images into plywood. You will get to see tool techniques, common practices, and helpful tips on how you can bring an image into a woodcut. You will also learn the fundamentals of operating a printing press and best ways to print woodcuts. The whole process in this short class!

Please note there is a materials fee of $35 in addition to tuition.
