Pulp: The Fluid and The Concrete

This exhibition (Pulp: The Fluid and The Concrete) presents artworks by a diverse group of artists, each dedicated to the expressive and investigative practice of hand papermaking. The careful selection of works on view exemplifies how each [re]imagines and [re]defines this art form’s models, techniques, and realizations while showcasing an unwavering commitment and passion to the discipline. Each artist uniquely approaches handmade paper in a contemporary context with surface, fluctuation, translucency, and fluidity serving as unifying themes. Their works are technically and conceptually diverse, innovative, flawless in craftsmanship, and above all, true to each artist’s concept and vision.

Gail Deery and Cynthia Nourse Thompson
