Project Description

Art Recycled: Plarn (Plastic Yarn) Workshop with Ruth Marshall

Let’s make Plarn! “Plarn” is plastic yarn made from plastic bags. Exhibiting artist Ruth Marshall will teach you how to crochet using this free yarn that we can make from all of those plastic grocery bags we have around the house. What better way to recycle them than to reuse them, and give them new life as a lovely dish scrubber or bag! Basic shapes and stitches will be taught, and from there you can create your item to suit your needs. Plarn samples will be on display. Bring a K hook, (6.5mm), and approximately 24 bags to a complete bag, ideally with four bags in a different color, if available. All skill levels welcome.
