Project Description

Artist Talk and Demonstration with Andrew Hayes

Please join us for a unique peak into the process of artist Andrew Hayes, whose artwork marries “the rigid qualities of metal with the delicacy of the book page.”  Hayes grew up in Tucson, Arizona and says that the desert landscape inspired his current style of altered book sculptures, made from paper and steel.  With his work, he strives to take his “sensory appreciation for the book as a material and employ the use of metal to create a new form, and hopefully a new story.” This demonstration is not to be missed.  Pre-registration is not required.

Please Note:  The opening reception is held from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  Three shows will be opening and the artists will be giving individual talks between 3:00 – 4:00 p.m.
