Project Description

Introduction to Printmaking with Kathy Metaxas

Learn the art of printmaking – a thoroughly unique mix of drawing and painting.  Artists have long been intrigued with this popular medium for the speed and spontaneity it offers. Limited editions or one-of-a kind prints can be created with the use of rich and colorful inks.  Participants will explore techniques in monotype and relief printing. A monotype print is a one-of-a-kind print that the artist creates on a flat printing plate. A relief print is a print that is created from carved wood or linoleum block.

This class is open to all levels and most materials are provided. No experience is necessary, just give it try and the outcome will be beautiful!  Most materials provided.
