Learn the exciting art of monoprinting – a thoroughly unique combination of painting and printmaking. Monotype is the simple method of creating a plate, usually on plexiglass, then sending it through a press to create a one-of-a-kind image. When texture and image are skillfully combined with rich and colorful inks, beautiful and unique art can be produced. Participants will also learn the art of chine colle (the application of rice paper), as well as xerox transfer and embossing. This class is open to all levels. No experience is necessary, just the desire to create!
Recommended for adults and teens, age 16 and up.
