Project Description

Weaving Without a Loom Workshops

Please note: This class will be held virtually using Zoom. Click HERE to learn more about online learning with HAM and contact Joan Gavornik with any questions or concerns.

Weaving is calming, rewarding, and a great outlet for creativity and emotions as we all spend more time at home. You don’t need a fancy loom to get started! In this workshop series students will learn two methods of weaving without a loom by repurposing everyday items, using cardboard in session 1 and a picture frame in session 2. Sign up for just one or both! Materials for each session are listed below.

Session 1 (Creating a Cardboard Loom) Supplies:

  • Cardboard (approx. 8”x10” or larger)
  • String
  • Yarn in a variety of colors and thicknesses
  • Plastic bags
  • Paper bags

Session 2 (Creating a Picture Frame Loom) Supplies:

  • Photo frame (approx. 8”x10” or larger)
